The 5 Basic Emotions

In our workshop, we will identify several emotions within ourselves. We will identify these emotions, become aware of them, and then reconsider our attitudes, leading to authenticity.

Among the wide spectrum of emotions, five are considered fundamental: joy, sadness, fear, anger, and disgust. They are fundamental because we need them to lead a relatively harmonious and balanced life.

Secondary emotions are mixed emotions. For example, shame combines fear and anger towards oneself. The management of each emotion must be understood according to your own character and/or personality.

I often hear people say that they want to get rid of fear, for example, believing it to be something very unhealthy or destructive. The opposite is true when fear is well controlled. Anger also has a bad reputation. If you knew how much we need this emotion, you would allow it more often – in moderation and in the right doses, of course. These are skills anyone can learn.

Accepting your emotions, even the negative ones, with kindness, reduces their intensity and allows you to react and respond differently.
When emotions are used effectively, you can develop more harmonious interpersonal relationships.

A fundamental principle of psychology is that our emotions depend more on our perceptions than on the events and circumstances that trigger them.

This self-discovery will involve individual and group exercises. Relaxation, visualization, free expression through movement, art, and speech will be our tools.
